Glass : Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab,
Maharashtra, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, West
Bengal and Karnataka.
Iron and Steel : Bhilai, Durgapur, Rourkela,
Bokaro, IISCO Burnpur. T ISCO Jamshedpur,
MISL Bhadarvati. Three more steel plants have come up at Visakhapatnam, Hospet (Vijaynagar) and Salem.
• Jute Textiles : India is the largest producer of jute manufactures contributing 35% of the world's total output West Bengal accounts for overwhelming productiom Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh contribute the rest.
Leather : Delhi, Uttar Pradesh(Agra,Kanpur), Tamil Nadu (Coimbatore, Chennai),
Maharashtra (Mumbai), Karnataka(Bengaluru), West Bengal (Kolkata).
Locomotive : Chittranjan, Jamshedpur,
Varanasi.
Man-made Fibres : Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh are the major producers. Karnataka, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana are next in importance.

Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.
Paper : Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Haryana, Andhra

Pharmaceuticals : There are about 250 units in the organised sector and about 5C00 units in the small sector producing drugs. Some of these are at— Rishikesh, Pimpri, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Baroda ,Chennai, Kolkata, Kanpur.
Railway Coaches : Perambur (Tamil Nadu), Kapurthala (Punjab).
Silk Textiles : Karnataka is the premier silk
producing state contributing about 2/3rd of the country's total output, Assam, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir together account for 31.45%.

Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra, Rajasthan,
